Students sort pictures into categories by identifying the different characteristics of the images. There are also pages to practice fine motor skills and writing. Work on spacing, baseline adherence, and formation to improve handwriting legibility.
OT Tip: Tape worksheets to the walls or the underside of a table to improve shoulder strength while students complete their work. Have students lay on their stomachs throughout the day to improve upper body strength. Improving core stability will improve handwriting skills by increasing motor dexterity in the hands. Posture will improve and students will be able to sit up and stabilize their paper with the opposite hand.
