HOW TO COMPLETE THE LEAP YEAR PRINTABLE FOR 2024

Print the two pages. Page one is a two minute motor challenge (or you do not have to time it).

  • Leap Like a Frog: Children are encouraged to leap 12 times, mimicking a frog’s jump. This activity promotes gross motor skills, helping in muscle development and coordination.
  • February Calendar Fun: A partially filled February calendar awaits the young ones. Filling in the missing numbers fosters number recognition, sequencing skills, and an understanding of the concept of time.
  • ‘L’ Hunt: Finding four objects that start with the letter ‘L’ is not just a fun scavenger hunt; it’s a language enrichment exercise that enhances vocabulary and phonemic awareness.
  • Kangaroo’s Path: Tracing the lines of the kangaroo’s leaps is an excellent way for children to refine their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination, crucial for handwriting development.

Page Two – Creative Exploration:

  • Color by Number Frog: This activity combines the fun of coloring with the educational aspect of number recognition. As children color the sections based on the corresponding numbers, they engage in a creative task that also promotes color recognition and fine motor skills.

WHAT SKILLS ARE YOU WORKING ON WITH THIS PRINTABLE

  • Handwriting Improvement: Tracing activities provide the foundational skills necessary for legible handwriting, promoting hand steadiness and control.
