School Based OT Interview – Day in the Life Video Series #3

We continue with our Day in the Life Video series with Heather, a school-based occupational therapist. In this interview, Heather shares with us her daily schedule working with students in kindergarten through grade 5 where she travels between two buildings.

Her desire to work in the schools started after her first clinical rotation. We discuss her day-to-day routine as a school-based Occupational Therapist such as scheduling, frequency of services, and documentation.

She reflects back on why she became an OT in the first place. She changed careers and became an OT years ago after being in the film industry.

When asked about “what is the best thing about your job?” she was super quick to answer and excited “It’s the KIDS!”. She shares how much she enjoys building relationships with her students.
