This is from the complete Cursive Instruction resource. Developed by a school-based occupational therapist, Italic Cursive Instruction utilizes a leveled cursive learning system. Easy to teach, this method allows students to learn through a steady acquisition of skills that include tracing, copying formations, remembering formations, writing words, and writing sentences.
What Supplies Will You Need for Printable Cursive Practice Sheets?
You will need a black and white printer, a pencil, and a workspace. Don’t forget to encourage your student to have good posture when practicing their cursive handwriting.
Correct sitting posture while writing should include:
- the feet should have a stable base of support.
- hips, knees, and ankles should be bent at 90 degrees.
- desk should be 1-2” higher than bent elbows.
- on the desk, the paper should be angled. Angle it so that the right side of the paper is slightly higher for right handed students.
- stabilize the paper with your non-dominant hand.
