Description
Do you need a fun, independent way to develop the specific fine motor-visual coordination skills that are needed for managing a pencil with precision (in other words, pre-writing)?
This Golf Tee Poke Pictures Packet provides excellent activities for classrooms stations/centers, “my work’s all done” activities, or even indoor recess. Voila! This packet is designed to use with golf tees (Pro-tip: use a short 1.5” tee for best grasp). So it can be set up with distant supervision for everyday use in the classroom. Kids love poking holes and they don’t even realize they’re working on school skills. You will need golf tees and soft cardboard or old mouse pad to put under the paper to poke the holes.
Details: 21 page PDF digital download delivered electronically immediately following payment. The packet provides 9 pages of golf tee poke activities in color and the same 9 pages in black and white.
Created by school-based Occupational Therapist, Jennifer Dodge, this packet focuses on letter and number formation, with three more pages of pictures just for fun. Jennifer Dodge OTR states that “as a school OT, one thing that bugs me about letter formation worksheets is they don’t stress where to start the movements for formations, or the little arrows and numbers are so “busy” that kids just tune them out.” These use color-coded stars and dots to show the correct formation for each letter and number, which can be easier for students to see once they are instructed to look for them. You can grade the difficulty of the activity by altering the softness of the underlying cardboard layer by making it thicker or thinner.
The Golf Tee Poke Pictures packet includes the 26 letters of the alphabet (upper case and lower case), numbers 0-9 and 12 cute pictures.
Suitable for kindergarten age and up, remediation groups, homeschool, parents, and of course occupational therapists, this packet is very useful for promoting prewriting and handwriting skills with your students!
