Motor Planning, Body Awareness and Finger Strengthening Ninja Style

Here is a fun FREEBIE for the Ninja loving fan from Ninja Brain Breaks!  You can download it for free at the bottom of this post. This activity encourages motor planning, body awareness, finger strengthening and physical activity.

HOW TO SET UP THE NINJA BODY AWARENESS ACTIVITY

  1. Print the page on cardstock paper.
  2. Cut apart the small pictures on the bottom of the page.
  3. Cut out the Big Ninja Circle.
  4. Glue the small pictures to clothespins.

HOW TO COMPLETE THE ACTIVITY

  • Provide the child with the circle and the clothespins.  Mix up the clothespins.
  • The child can pick up a clothespin.
  • Match the clothespin to the ninja and clip it on the circle.
  • The child can perform that Ninja move.
  • Pick a new clothespin.
  • Repeat until all the Ninja moves have been matched.

HOW TO MODIFY THE ACTIVITY

  • If you do not have time to prep this activity, just practice the ninja moves.  Color each one with a highlighter after you finish it.
  • If clothespins are too hard for the child to open, just place the small picture on top of the matching ninja and complete the exercise.
  • If no clothespins are available but you still want to work on hand strengthening, use a hole punch.  Complete each ninja move and punch a hole in it when done.
