How Do the Spring Finger Count and Clip Cards Work?
- Download, print, and cut apart the 60 different clip cards.
- Provide the children with clothespins and/or paper clips and the cards.
- Clip the clothespin or paper clip to the correct number after counting the objects in the picture and matching to fingers on the hand to make their choices.
What Skills Do the Spring Finger Count and Clip Cards Work On?
Children will work on the following skills:
- hand and finger strengthening
- visual discrimination skills
- counting
- visual scanning skills
- eye hand coordination
- bilateral coordination
Other Ways to Use the Clip Cards
If you don’t have clothespins or paper clips and want to just work on visual perceptual and fine motor skills, ask the children to place a small bingo chip or coin on the correct hand holding up the correct number of fingers.
If you want to use the packet digitally, open up the PDF and use Kami or a similar resource to make a mark on the one correct choice.
Add in finger isolation and have the student demonstrate with their own hand the correct number of objects in the picture.
