Free Hedgehog Clay Game

Purpose:  Encourage fine motor skills, visual motor skills and visual memory skills.

Materials: clay, toothpicks, permanent markers, pony beads and googly eyes

Preparation:  Step one:  Shape the clay into a hedgehog body (kind of like a light bulb). Push the googly eyes into the narrow end.  Place the pony beads firmly into the clay. There should be the same amount of pony beads as there are tooth picks.

Step two:  Color the tips of 4 toothpicks the same color using the markers.  Make a set for each player.

Step three:  Someone who is not playing should place the toothpicks colored side down into each pony bead.  Or put them in and spin the hedgehog around several times.

Play the Game:  Every player chooses a color to find.  Remove a toothpick.  If it is your color keep the toothpick. If it is not your color, put in back into the hedgehog.  The first player to find all four of their toothpick color is the winner!
